Beach Time

It's been gloriously sunny here the last few days. M and I headed down to the beach twice this weekend ... couple of picnics, couple of naps, couple of beers on the beach equals one good time. I can prove that ... Let GT be good times, therefore ..

GT = (2*picnics) + (2*naps) + (2*beers)

..or...

GT = 2 * (picnic+nap+beer)

...

There's nothing like a super sunny day in Vancouver. It reminds you that it really is the best place on the planet and this is why you pay all the taxes :)

Rescuing Ricci

We spotted a little dog playing in the grass outside. There was no owner around so I thought "mmm, wonder if that dog is lost". I checked the dog-tag ... "Ricci" was the name, and Ricci was a mile away from home... Poor dog... M called the owners and they was in a neighbouring city! nice ... There was a confusing stream of information - so we decided to keep it simple and drive Ricci home. Ricci got home, the owners were happy ... all in good days work.

Nice Visit

The Flemish Economist came by to say hello whilst taking a stroll around the neighbourhood with his baby boy. Nice to see them!

Spring! Spring! Spring!

One great thing about living so far away from the equator is that when it get's sunny and the flowers bloom - you really appreciate it :)

Vancouver loves it cherry trees... there's tons of them, there's a festival for them and the public transport promotes the annual winners of the "Cherry Blossom Haiku Competition". On the ride into work I read them .. they're actually really good. Some kid come out with a cracker - which I can't recall at the moment.

Olympic Village

Construction seems to be in overdrive on the Olympic Village ... which allegedly will be the 'greenest' community around featuring 'affordable' living starting at a huge chunk-of-change. There's lots of condos being built as part of the village - and what used to be a old garages, antique shops, old factories will soon be super cool Vancouver hi-rises.
