M and I headed down to the beach this afternoon for some fresh air. We came across these kool dudes parasurfing at Spanish Banks. Here's a little movie I made of them in action.

This week we're heading home to England. We're looking fwd to seeing our family and friends and some European adventures in Spain & ScotchLand. No doubt, we'll be updating our blog.

Parade Of Lost Souls - 2006

After a long day of gardening, it was time to celebrate the dead. The celebrations commenced with several friends joining us for a fab dinner M had made. Munching over we headed down to the parade. Good times strolling the East Streets checking out the costumes, merry-makers, fire-folk and the free-wheeling Vancouverites. Here's a movie of the evening. Enjoy.

Wanna Go See Ziggy Marley?

Hey Korrmacurry someones knocking at the door. "Who go there??". It be Oz! ... "Wanna pop down the Commodore for an hour and watch Ziggy Marley". "Hear me noooow. sure". So of we drove in the OzMobile down to the show.

Now, I love's me reggae and to be honest I've not really payed Ziggy much attention other than royally appreciating "Tommorow People", so I was happy to see that the man ruled!

His tunes are fab, and skanking enough for the DubMasters collection. Now tell me ... who in the world would be better suited to singing Bob Marley songs? Clay Aitkin?, The Backstreet Boys? or Ziggy Marley!. Yes, he sang them like a man pocessed and his band did the Wailers proud - out..freaking..standing.

Pizza Toscana Arrabiata

Back from the video-game mines, it's time to get creative in the kitchen. M and I came up with our new pizza creation Pizza Toscana Arrabiata.

So what's the sauce? Fresh yellow tomatoes picked from the vine in our garden, with some fresh oregano, basil (also from the garden) chilli flakes, garlic & white wine which we cooked down.

What's the toppings? We bunged some chopped spicy sicilian olives, our own roasted green/red peppers, courgette, pine nuts a mixed layer of parmesan & pecorino cheeses on a whole wheat crust. mmm-mmmm

Sunshine Coast In The Rain

We headed over to the Sunshine Coast yesterday for an overnight visit to see our friends and their new baby girl.

Ahh, the fall and winter months of the Pacific Northwest are setting in and there's nothing like this time of the year for the atmosphere.

JanaJana.com

Here's a video from our neighbourhood pop princess JanaJana and all together nice person. M has designed a few of her CD covers. I drink wine with her husband, and we all laugh a lot together. Enjoy, I think she's great.

All Along The Watchtower

Oz called us up and asked if we wanted to come on down and watch the Dylan show. Naturally we jumped at the chance ... so we put on jackets, fired up the kormacurry mobile and headed on down.

We arrived just in time to get situated and watch Bob take to the stage on the 1st night of his North American tour.

Greeting the audience he jittered into "Tweedle Dee - Tweedle Dum". Kool! A couple of songs in, Oz showed up "Follow me to better seats". So off we trotted into the press section where we sat down facing Bob !!! Truly Epic, and I have to say this was far less embarrassing than being in the front row of a Brian Adams show trying to look delighted when he stared at us.

Throughout the night he dipped into his obviously massive back collection. His band was pure class, providing a sonic sensation. Numerous guitarists textured the songs, whilst a pedal steel guitarist warmed everyones heart and soul. "...How does it feeee-eee-eel?" Pretty dang good Bob, Pretty dang good. Bob played keyboards and harmonica for the night, shuffling away as he played some cool Hammond.

On thing though, I only wish he'd sing the songs as he recorded them, I ended up asking myself .. "Is this still ... All Along The Watchtower ?". But whatever, the dude's probably sung those songs a billzillion times and feels like changing them up from time-to-time.

A truly and epic event, thanks a lot Oz!

Belcarra

For Canadian Thanksgiving M and I headed over to Belcarra, which is about 15 miles from our place. We also checked out a couple of parks & the Indian Arm. It never stops to amaze us how we can get into wilderness so quickly from the city.

KINKY - Mexican Maestros

For Mrs Potters birthday we bought her 2 tickets to her fave band Kinky, and 2 for us :). I didn't know quite what to expect, I'd heard the odd track M had played around the house - but didn't sit down to check it out.

So, after a tasty dinner downtown we headed down to Richards for the show. We met up with their friends, one who is from Mexico and jumped at the chance to watch this underground band from the old country.

After a dismal opener from Joshua Tree, California the band took the stage and this is where it all begin. Each musician was a powerhouse, and together they were a force to be dealt with. Generously and attentively they entertained the crowd. I can't quite describe their music, it's unique and unbelievable live. It was truly one of those shows where you've experienced and witnessed something great. CLICK HERE, to check out the website.

The large crowd of Mexicans who came down to the show went nuts dancing around with Mexican flags. Good times.

Mrs Potter had a fab birthday celebration, and Mr Potter was just over the moon.
